We had a lovely time in Tavira. We had one of the upstairs rooms with a balcony overlooking the river which was very comfortable. Sebastiao was very welcoming and helpful and gave us some good recommendations for beaches and restaurants. We really enjoyed swimming in the pool in the evenings when it was dark and the pool area was lit up. I would recommend the Tavira Inn to anyone who wants a comfortable and homely stay in easy reach of the bars and shops of Tavira.

We just spent a lovely 3 days in beautiful Tavira for my birthday. Sebastiao is running a very friendly and authentic little guesthouse and made us feel so welcome for our short stay. The hotel has a lovely swimming pool, perfect for that last dip of the day after lazing on the stunning beach on Tavira Island or wandering the quaint streets of the town centre (which is a few minute's walk away from the Tavira Inn). I left my glasses in the room when I returned to London and Sebastiao had them posted over and back in my hands quick as a flash - wonderful service. There is an excellent restaurant over the river which Sebasiao told us about - be sure to ask him where it is if you stay at the Tavira Inn. The train was a little disruptive but really, we didn't notice that much as we were too busy enjoying ourselves to be bothered by it! I would highly recommend staying here, for a slice of authentic Portugal, convenient location in a lovely little town and friendly, personal service. Thank you Sebastiao!

Greetings Sebastiao! Here's our contribution for your guestbook Portuguese Explorers discovered most of the world - we discovered the fascinating smaller world of Tavira and the Tavira Innm- a perfect combination for a relaxing, welcoming, life enhancing, all too short holiday! The town centre is very appealing - the old well preserved and the new blending in - all within a brief stroll from the Inn which sits beside the river and next to a most elegant steel lattice guilder beautiful green bridge over which runs the occasional and impressive trainline to and from faro announced by a second thunderous roar which we found most endearing. The Inn shows all the evidence of the great care and imagination which the owner,Sebastiao has put into his creation of this home from home.It is a place of natural beauty with a background of shady trees and shrubs and tropical flowers surrounding the sparkling sea water pool. The rooms have balconies with great views, the double beds are truely comfortable. Everywhere there was evidence of Sebastiao's artwork and that of his family. A lovely town, a lovely Inn and a most charming and thoughtful host. Roll on the return visit! Clare Short Shortclare@hotmail.com

This was our third stay in Tavira and our second with Sebastião at his lovely Inn. His quirky personality is reflected in the Inn and the way he does business there. The town is the ideal size for spending relaxing days in the Algarve with no high rises in sight. Absolutely idyllic. If you - like us - are not lucky enough to have a cousin to stay with in Tavira then this is the next best thing. Can't recommend either highly enough.

Second visit - enjoyed Tavira Inn and the locality even more. Tranquil surroundings - informed and entertaining host - very welcome change from corporate hotels that lack the character found at Sebastio's.

Very pleasant stay, although way too short. I do highly recommend the Tavira Inn: nice, quiet, close to the center of Tavira, friendly staff.

Myself and my now fianceé, Brian, had a wonderful time in Tavira, and were warmly welcomed and looked after by Sebastiao at the Tavira Inn. He has a really lovely, calm and relaxing place, with a lovely salt water pool and rooms decorated with original art works. It is a really short walk to the centre of Tavira, and I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a simple, clean and homely place to stay.
